In the summer before the year started, there was a freak storm of heat lightning that lasted for a record four days straight. After that, things began to change. Whether it was a freak of nature or an attack by some unknown party, the wild magic seeped into the very stones of the school. Hogwarts, which has always had a mind of its own, is now brimming with a strange magic that is leaving its mark upon everyone within the walls.
In the coming years, the students will witness and participate in some strange things even by Wizarding standards. No one knows what's to come, but it's becoming more and more apparent that they are subject to the whim of this new wild magic. Some view it as a fun game, others view it as a loss of power. But one thing is without question: Hogwarts just got a little more interesting.
